In my province, down in the town of Menlo Park, CA, is a convent of cloisted Dominican Nuns. It's an oasis of prayer and peace near Standford University at the edge of Silicon Valley. They're a wonderful community. We friars have a great affection for them and their vocation. After all, they are our sisters.

It's our tradition that without the prayers of the nuns, the preaching of the friars would be ineffective.
